Oculus Prorotyping Cheaper VR, Thinks Apps are Going Extinct

Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg spoke at the Oculus Connect 2016 keynote about a “people-first” virtual reality experience without apps. He demonstrated in real-time a new VR experience where he and two other VR avatars traveled to the bottom of the ocean, Mars, Facebook’s HQ and Zuckerberg’s home. They played games, watched a video, answered a video call, and took a selfie all in VR without opening any apps.
