Microsoft announced Xbox LIVE Gold will be free this weekend. The countries that will get to take advantage of Gold membership this weekend include USA, Canada, Latin America and Japan. Microsoft held free weekends for Europe in March.
Beginning Friday, April 19 at 7 a.m. PT Xbox LIVE will be unlocked. Silver members will get to access services like Netflix, HBO Go, Hulu Plus and more. The free weekend will end on Monday April 22nd at 10 a.m. PT.
Some games will also be offering double XP this weekend during Microsoft’s promotion, including the Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Assassin’s Creed III, and Far Cry 3. Netflix will be premiering its newest original series on the video-streaming service tonight, Hemlock Grove. EA Sports is also hosting free tournaments on their games including FIFA 13, NBA 2K13, Madden NFL 13m and NHL 13.
