Here’s a guide on how to use Uber app to get a ride.
1. Download the Uber App
Head on over to the Google Play Store or App Store and download the Uber app, Once the app is downloaded, you will need to create an account. Simply enter in your email address, mobile number and password. Uber needs to collect your mobile number and email address so they can send you ride confirmations and receipts.
2. Create an Uber Profile
The next step will be to create an Uber profile. You will need to upload a photo so your Uber driver can identify you when he picks you up at your location. You can either choose to upload a photo or choose an existing photo from your library.
3. Add a Credit Card to Secure Your Uber Account
To add a credit card to secure your Uber account, all you need to do is scan your credit card. You can do that by tapping on ‘scan your card.’ You will then receive a text message from Uber to verify your account.
4. Pin Your Location & Get Fare Quotes
To get fare quotes, simply tap on the fare quote icon and enter in your drop off location. The Uber app will then show you the fares. According to the app, it can vary depending on traffic and weather conditions. At the bottom of the app, you will see the approximate pickup time. If you have a promo code for Uber, tap the promo code icon, and enter in the promo code and it will be applied.
Because you added your credit card when you initially signed up, you won’t need to worry about cahs when you get picked up and dropped off at your location. The card that you have on file will automatically be charged when you’re dropped off at your destination.
5. Choose From Different Types of Vehicles
With the Uber app, you can easily choose the type of vehicle you want. You can choose from multiple types of vehicles like: taxi, UberX, Black Car and SUV. The estimated average fare for UberX is around $14, while Black Cars cost $24.
Go to the top of the map, choose the vehicle you want to be picked up in, and set your pick up location, and tap ‘Request.’ You will then receive a text message when your driver is on their way, and when the driver has arrived.
6. Share Uber
By tapping Share, you will receive a promo code that you can give to your friends for a free ride with Uber. This only applies to fares up to $30.
