1. Download the WhatsApp Messenger App

Head on over to the Google Play Store or App Store and download WhatsApp Messenger.
You will need to confirm your country code and enter in your mobile number. WhatsApp Messenger will then send you an SMS with a confirmation code to complete your activation. New WhatsApp members will get to enjoy 1 year of free service, and then it will cost $0.99 a year.

2. Edit Your Profile

You will be asked to create a profile upon signing up. With your profile, you’ll need to upload a photo and enter your name to receive notifications. If you have a Facebook account, you can import your Facebook information. Tap ‘Done’ and WhatsApp will automatically add all of your contacts that currently use WhatsApp. Whatsapp contacts will be added to the ‘Favorites’ section of the app. You can edit your ‘Favorites’ anytime you want.
