A first look at iOS11 and macOS 10.13 are expected to be presented by Apple CEO Tim Cook on Monday when he takes the stage as the keynote speaker at the company’s Worldwide Developers Conference in San Jose.
Cook’s speech is slated to begin at 1 p.m. EDT, and he will kick off the developer’s conference.
The annual conference typically centers around software enhancements, however reports say that Apple may be announcing some new devices.
There’s a possibility that Cook’s keynote will include brief preview of the iPhone 8, but the talk of the town is that he may introduce a new speaker that’s powered by Siri — similar to Amazon’s Alexa, Tom’s Guide reported.
The conference is used as a chance for Apple to offer its developers — and customers — a look at the changes throughout the company and its numerous operating systems.

Cook’s keynote comes after he set a goal in January to double Apple’s services revenue by 2020. Those services include the App Store, iTunes, Apple Music, Apple Pay and iCloud. Those combined revenues hit $7.17 billion in its first quarter earnings that were reported in December 2016. The lofty goal doesn’t seem so far-fetched, though. The services portion of the business has a reported growth rate of 18 percent year-over-year in that same quarter, and new updates and initiatives could help propel it further.
But the spotlight may be on the Siri home speaker, and as The Verge reported, making Siri “smarter” compared to its competitors.
The highlight of last year’s WWDC event was an upgrade to Apple Music, and it’s expected that this year will include updates to tvOS as Apple tries to grow the video segment of its company. That includes rumored virtual reality capabilities on iPhone 8.
WWDC runs from June 5-9 and includes many unique sessions which offer attendees in-depth technical details so they can help build the next generation of applications. It also includes many hands-on labs, consultations, guest speakers, gatherings and special events.
