Cleveland placed Brown (foot) on its injured reserve list Tuesday. Brown suffered a foot injury while he was on punt coverage during Sunday's game versus the Ravens, and now he'll have to sit out for at least the next four weeks. He's played all of his snaps so far this season on special teams, so Cleveland will have to look for a way to replace his production in that phase.

Goes to IR
Cleveland placed Brown (foot) on its injured reserve list Tuesday. Brown suffered a foot injury while he was on punt coverage during Sunday's game versus the Ravens, and now he'll have to sit out for at least the next four weeks. He's played all of his snaps so far this season on special teams, so Cleveland will have to look for a way to replace his production in that phase.
Receives promotion
Brown was signed to Cleveland's 53-man roster from its practice squad Thursday. Brown has already been elevated the maximum of three times from the practice squad this season. With Denzel Ward (hamstring) questionable, the team has officially added the Alabama product to the active roster, bolstering their depth in the secondary.
Elevated for Week 5
Cleveland elevated Brown from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports. It's the third time Brown has been elevated from the practice squad, meaning that he would have to be signed to the active roster in order to play for Cleveland after Sunday's game against the Commanders. Brown has played 40 snaps on special teams over the last two games and has accumulated two solo tackles and a forced fumble over that span.
Heading to Cleveland
Brown and the Browns agreed on a one-year contact Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Brown will head to Cleveland after spending the last two seasons with the Colts, most recently recording 10 tackles, an interception, a forced fumble and a pass deflection over 12 contests in 2023. The cornerback will likely operate in a special-teams role with the Browns in 2024.
Will not return
Brown suffered the head injury on the opening kickoff. After being evaluated, it was determined the Alabama product did indeed suffer a concussion and will now be subject to the league's five-step process to gain clearance to return to the field.
Leaves with potential concussion
Brown's ability to return will likely be based on whether he suffered a concussion. If he did, he would have to enter the league's five-step protocols, but he should be able to return if he didn't.
