McCollum (hamstring) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Giants, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports. McCollum opened the Buccaneers' week of practice with back-to-back DNPs after aggravating his hamstring injury in Tampa Bay's Week 10 loss to the 49ers. However, he upgraded to a full practice session Friday, suggesting that he's trending toward playing in Week 12. If the Sam Houston State is sidelined Sunday, expect Tyrek Funderburk to see increased work with Buccaneers' first-team defense.

Zyon McCollum Latest News
Questionable for Week 12
Opens week as DNP
McCollum (hamstring) was listed as a DNP on Wednesday's injury report. McCollum suffered a hamstring injury during the Buccaneers' Week 10 loss to the 49ers. Even with the additional rest courtesy of the Week 11 bye, McCollum was unable to participate in Wednesday's session, and he will have two more chances to return to practice ahead of Sunday's game against the Giants.
Injury not believed to be serious
McCollum tweaked his hamstring in Sunday's Week 10 loss to San Francisco, but the injury isn't expected to be serious, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports. McCollum was deemed questionable to return with under five minutes remaining in the contest and was downgraded to doubtful with under a minute left. While he ultimately wasn't able to return to the game, the hamstring injury doesn't appear to be a serious concern, per Laine's report. Tampa Bay is off next week, so McCollum will have extra time to recover ahead of the team's next contest, which will take place Sunday, Nov. 24 against the Giants.
Exits game with hamstring injury
McCollum (hamstring) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the 49ers. With Sunday's game winding down, it's unclear whether McCollum will return even if he's healthy. Keenan Isaac and Tyrek Funderburk are in line for increased snaps at corner for as long as McCollum is sidelined.
Remains busy in Week 9
McCollum posted seven tackles (three solo), including one tackle for loss, in the Buccaneers' 30-24 overtime loss to the Chiefs on Monday night. McCollum played on a season-high 85 snaps (100 percent) and recorded a higher tackle total than the prior game for the third consecutive contest. The 2022 fifth-round pick already has a career-high 10 pass defensed, including the first two interceptions of his career, across nine games, and with 45 tackles in that same span, he's comfortably on pace to exceed the previous high of 68 stops he recorded across 17 regular-season games in 2023.
Six tackles in loss
McCollum furnished six tackles (two solo) in the Buccaneers' 31-26 loss to the Falcons on Sunday. McCollum put together a solid tackle total in the high-scoring loss, tying for his second-highest total of the campaign. The third-year pro has gotten his hands on the ball consistently throughout the season and has allowed just a 37.5 percent completion rate in primary coverage, but he hasn't defensed a pass in the last two games and has given up four passing touchdowns overall.
Acrobatic INT in win
McCollum posted a solo tackle, an interception and an additional pass defensed in the Buccaneers' 51-27 win over the Saints on Sunday. McCollum made a leaping interception of a Spencer Rattler pass intended for Rashid Shaheed on the first play of the fourth quarter, his second pick of the season. McCollum's tackle total tied a season low despite the fact he logged a robust 66 snaps, but he continued to display his knack for getting his hands on the ball and now has a career-high 10 pass breakups through six games.
Gets hands on two more passes
McCollum furnished six tackles (three solo) and defensed two passes in the Buccaneers' 26-7 loss to the Broncos on Sunday. McCollum has now gotten his hands on six passes over the last two games, with one of those going for an interception. The third-year pro, who is handling the starting right cornerback role this season following the departure of Carlton Davis, has allowed a minuscule 27.3 completion percentage and 3.3 yards per attempt on the 11 passes he's faced in primary coverage through three games.
Six tackles, INT in Week 2 win
McCollum recorded six tackles (all solo) and four defensed passes, including an interception, in the Buccaneers' 20-16 win over the Lions on Sunday. McCollum had played just 11 snaps in Week 1 before suffering a concussion, but then he was able to get back to full practices Thursday and Friday, and clear protocol. That thrust the third-year pro back into his starting right cornerback role, and he played on all 85 snaps while tying for the fifth-highest tackle total on the Bucs and consistently getting his hands on Jared Goff's passes. McCollum will look to snag his second pick of the season against the erratic Bo Nix when the Broncos come calling in Week 3.
