The 21-year-old played in 63 regular-season games for Charlotte last season, during which he averaged 3.2 points and 2.3 rebounds across 12.4 minutes. Thor also shot a career-high 34.6 percent from deep while averaging 1.3 attempts per game.
Thor is included on South Sudan's roster for the Paris Olympics. Thor spent the past three seasons in the NBA with the Hornets but became an unrestricted free agent in late June. Thor isn't starting Friday against the Magic. Thor drew a start Wednesday against the Trail Blazers and tallied nine points, five rebounds, an assist and a block in 27 minutes during the loss. However, he'll retreat to the bench since Miles Bridges (wrist) is returning to action Friday.
Thor will be in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against Portland, Sam Perley of the Hornets' official site reports. Thor is getting a spot start due to Miles Bridges' (wrist) absence, so the former could be someone to consider in daily leagues with a favorable matchup against the Trail Blazers. Joining Thor in the first unit will be Tre Mann, Brandon Miller, Davis Bertans and Grant Williams.
Thor (shoulder) is available for Monday's game against the Cavaliers. As expected, Thor has been upgraded from probable to available. He's appeared in five of Charlotte's last seven games, averaging 3.0 points and 9.8 minutes during that stretch.
