Celebrities that include Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Alba, Will Ferrel and many more came together to create a video for the campaign “Demand a Plan to End Gun Violence” in wake of the recent Sandy Hook Elementary shooting in Newtown, Conn.
“For the children of Sandy Hook, demand a plan. No more lists of names,” Cameron Diaz and Courtney Cox said in the video.
Gun control has been the popular debate at the dinner table and in Washington D.C. since the tragedy that was the straw that broke the camel’s back for many Americans.
The Demand a Plan campaign sponsored by “Mayors Against Illegal Guns” proposes passing “common sense legislation” that will:
1. Require a criminal background check for every gun sold in America
2. Ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines
3. Make gun trafficking a federal crime, including real penalties for “straw purchasers”
