Drake has shouted out his hometown of Toronto yet again in a newly released track by Snoop Lion.
This time though, he’s referenced Toronto’s worst ever mass shooting on the reggae-inspired No Guns Allowed.
One summer day that went horribly wrong
Got my dawg on the phone
Cryin’ and sayin’ to leave him alone, but I’m not leavin’ his side
I know that somebody died, somebody’s child
Some people ducked down and some people hide
Some people just cannot react in time
Bullets do not choose a victim
It is the shooter that picks ’em
They just can’t wait to get you in the system
The district attorney could use a conviction
Told you no guns and then you didn’t listen
Life is so heavy with that on your soul
Dedicate this to Shyanne and Josh
And pour sumthin’ out for the lives that they stole

The Danzig Street shootings, which claimed the lives of Shyanne Charles, 14, and Joshua Yasay, 23, happened during an east-end block party on July 16, 2012.
Aside from the deaths of Charles and Yasay, who police say were innocent victims, more than 20 were wounded by gunfire.
An eye for an eye leaves everyone blinded.

So far four teenagers, ranging in age from 16 to 19, have been charged with various counts including murder, aggravated assault, attempted murder and recklessly discharging a firearm.
The cause of the violence, according to homicide detectives, is thought to be a confrontation between members of the Malvern Crew and the Galloway Boys, notorious Scarborough street gangs.
