Yvette Fielding, star of the paranormal show Most Haunted, is not having a very good week. She’s been denying rumors left and right that she and One Direction heartthrob Harry Styles had tried to seduce her, and she is none too happy about it. The two are family friends, after all, and it might have made their next get-together a bit awkward.
Fielding was simply discussing her son’s friendship with Styles in an interview with Woman magazine, and her comments were evidently taken out of context. “The last time I saw him we went for a Chinese — his mum and her partner, Robin, plus me and my husband, Karl,” she said. “Harry was sending me disgusting texts from across the table. I can’t even repeat the words, they were so rude!”
These comments caused an eruption of headlines saying that Styles had tried to bed the 44-year-old, but she vehemently denied the allegations. As she told Heatworld.com, “It’s all a load of rubbish — it’s ridiculous and I’m really upset about it. Of course it’s not true.”
A source close to Fielding said, “She’s disgusted — she’s been completely misquoted. Harry never did that, he never said it. She’s upset – these are family friends.” Styles’ people were quick to deny as well, saying, “Harry has never sent any rude or inappropriate texts to Yvette Fielding.” The alleged incident happened when Styles was only 16. The two boys’ friendship has evidently grown more distant as Styles gains popularity with 1D, but this incident no doubt resulted in an uncomfortable conversation between them.
