WATCH: Official Trailer For Undead Buddy Cop Movie, ‘R.I.P.D.’

The summer of 2013 is backed up a by a large number of potential blockbuster movies inspired by comic books – Iron Man 3, The Man of Steel, Kick-Ass 2, RED 2, The Wolverine, Sin City: A Dame to Call For, 300: Rise of an Empire, Oblivion, and Thor: The Dark World.

Let’s add another graphic novel, big screen adaptation to that list – R.I.P.D.

Taken from the Dark Horse Entertainment comic book Rest In Peace Department, the film places Ryan Reynolds in the undead cop shoes of Nick Cruz Walker, who was recently killed in the line of duty. As a newly minted officer of the R.I.P.D., Nick partners up with veteran undead officer Roy Pulsipher (Jeff Bridges) in order to combat any undead baddies in the living world. Nick is also on a personal mission as looks to find his killer.

The trailer is filled with your usual mix of over-the-top action sequences and funny, ha-ha cop jokes. But it also comes packed with paranormal baddies that evoke memories of the Men In Black films, which were all pretty awesome (well, let’s take MIB 2 out of that equation, actually).
