Dancing With The Stars Finale Recap 5/21/13: Top 10 Highlights

1. Pitbull Starts The Party.

 

 

Decked out completely in black, all of the professionals and celebs put on a sexy and fun performance to Pitbull in order to kick off the show.

Pitbull also takes the stage halfway through the program to perform his new song titled “Manos Ariba”.  It definitely sounds like a new hit.  The lyrics are somewhat similar to the throwback Spanish hit “Levantando Los Manos”.

2. Aly and Mark Get Eliminated in the First Few Minutes.

Without a doubt, it feels shocking for any of these couples, but to have them leave in the first few minutes definitely had an impact.

3. Former Contestant Wynonna Judd Returns To Sing.

In order to promote her new music, Wynonna sang her heart out and former partner Tony helped her finish off with a friendly congratulatory kiss.
Another female song artist who performed was Jessica Sanchez singing from her new album.

4. Kellie and Derek Perform the Encore Dance.

 

 

 

5. Dorothy Hamill Returns To Dance.

After previously leaving the show early due to an energy, Hamill comes back to have a little taste of what she missed this season. Ironically, her partner Tristan was injured and could not perform with her. She actually did quite amazing and danced alongside her inspiration, Kristi Yamaguchi. Dorothy wasn’t the only one to return and perform. Lisa Vanderpump and the hilarious Andy Dick did the same.

6. PSY Hits The Dancefloor With His Latest Music.

 

 

No clue as to what he was singing tonight, but definitely onboard with all the ridiculously fun moves to his new single. Even cast members joined in on the new line dance… We smell another new trend.

7. The Remaining Three Contestants Put Together Instant Dances.

Having little time to learn these dances, Jacoby and Karina took on the task first… and seemed to do pretty well, especially with Jacoby’s usual jumping skills.

Kellie and Derek’s instant Jive was fantastic. Bruno tells Kellie that she reminds him of Julianna Hough, Derek’s talented sis and former DWTS pro. Len and Carrie Ann agreed as the compliments continued, calling them the mama’s pajamas.

I thought Zendaya and Val’s instant dance was good, but think it’s terribly unfair that week after week, Zendaya wears sneakers instead of heels.

8. Celebrities Across The Country Showed Their Support Tonight.

Jacoby and Karina: 86
Kellie and Derek: 94
Zendaya and Val: 95

10. The Winner is… Kellie and Derek!

Third place went to Jacoby and Karina.
Second place went to Zendaya and Val.

Another mirrorball for Derek! As cast-mates lifted Kellie and Derek up onto their shoulders, you could hear Kellie say, “It’s heavy,” as she raised her trophy in her hands.
