JWoww and Snooki, a.k.a. Jenni Farley and Nicole Polizzi, are firing back at a small New Jersey town whose residents are protesting their Jersey Shore spinoff Snooki & JWoww from being filmed there, reports The Los Angeles Times.

More than 40 residents of Pelican Island, which is located just outside of Seaside Heights where the original Jersey Shore case rose to fame, met at a property owner association meeting to fight against the reality show from being filmed in their quiet town. According to NJ.com, the town is in the middle of reconstruction following the destruction of Superstorm Sandy last year and many residents believe the show will bring unwanted tourists who will get in the way of the rebuilding process.

“This is a quiet, friendly island that’s being put on the map for the wrong reasons,” resident Sue Kosakowski said. “It’s a disgrace.”

Polizzi did not respond well to the protests and took to Instagram to express her anger:

“Adults are trying to ban my son, fiance and I from enjoying our summer at the shore,” Polizzi wrote on Instagram, sharing a screen grab of the NJ.com story. “Grow up, get over yourself and move on. This is not how we should be treating one another. Absolutely sick and very sad. I pray for you. There’s much bigger things to worry about in life than trying to ban my family from your neighborhood.”

The 25-year-old reality star continued her rant on Twitter:

Farley, on the other hand, is taking the news a bit more light-heartedly:
