San Diego Comic Con 2013 Day 3: Top 10 Facts You Need to Know

Saturday was even crazier than we expected it be. New movie announcements made the rounds, comic book video games got some shine and we even got some interview sessions you’l all have to see.

These are the top ten facts you need to know about day 3 of SDCC 2013.

1. The Batman/Superman Movie Is Now a Real Thing

People have been calling for a Batman/Superman mega movie for years now, but it seemed like something that would only happen in our dreams. As it turns out, DC Comics and Warner Brothers may have made that dream come true:

It’s been announced that broke Warner Brothers will team up the two most famous superheroes world in a sequel to this summer’s Man of Steel Superman reboot. The new flick was announced at the studio’s panel in Hall H today. Man of Steel’s Zach Snyder will stay on board as director of this opus.

2. Yvonne Strahovski Spent Some Time With Us

Beautiful and alluring, Yvonne Strahovski is a major treat on the small/big screen. Heavy got the chance to talk to her about her current roles on the mega hit cable drama Dexter and her movie role in the upcoming I, Frankenstein.

3. The Stars of The World’s End Also Let Us Chop It Up With Them

The hilarious film trilogy that stars Simon Pegg Nick Frost along with director/screenwriter Edgar Wright is now coming to and end with the release of The World’s End. We got the rare chance to sit down with all three movie big wigs to talk about everything from SDCC 2013 to the move itself.

4. Marvel’s Movie Panel Was Amazing

The cinematic workings behind Marvel Comics got a huge boost after a special panel took place. Footage of the second Captain America and Thor films were given to the crowd in attendance, plus the cast of X-Men: Days of Future Past and Guardians of the Galaxy were in attendance. The biggest announcement, though? The planned sequel to The wildly successful Avengers film will be called The Avengers: Age of Ultron.

5. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’s Theatrical Trailer Was Mind Blowing

We all know you guys lost your minds after seeing the trailer for this mega book series turned multi-million dollar move franchise. Nothing else needs to be said besides watch this damn trailer a dozen more times! The Hunger Games hype has begun…again.

6. Game of Thrones Threw A Legendary Party

HBO’s Game of Thrones could be seen plastered on the side of buses, trolleys and buildings. The show’s presence was so strong that it ended up being the main theme for one of the day’s major parties. Best part about it? The fact that people took a seat at the shindig just so they could watch more of the show.

7. The Beautiful Cosplay Action Got Even Hotter

We ran across even more awesome cosplayers that had to be seen to be believed. After checking out the gallery above, you’ll get the chance to become a believer. The women of SDCC 2013 are heroes in our eyes…

8. Marvel’s Mobile/Console Gaming Presence Just Got Stronger

Marvel’s upcoming and already released video games became the focus of one of the comic book giant’s many panels during SDCC 2013. This showcase revealed some newer details on LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, Marvel Heroes, X-Men: Battle of the Atom and so much more. Even the great Stan Lee had to drop in to say a few words to the excited crowd!

9. Another Day Means More Toys You Need to See (and Hopefully Purchase)

There’s no possible way that all the available toys, action figures and models at SDCC 2013 could be covered with just one photo gallery. We just had to document all the droll worthy collectibles that littered the showroom floor. 10. The Masquerade Ball Was The Perfect Ending to Such A Wild Day

The myriad amount of custom costumes that are seen during SDCC 2013 are endless. So much so that a special masquerade ball event is held for the best of the best. More than 30 cosplay submissions hit the stage with amazingly detailed costumes and carefully choreographed routines.
