Lee Choon Hong, a female comedian from North Korea, recently made a “not funny” joke when performing on a 150,000-acre farm — which ended in dire punishment.

Talk about a tough crowd! But, according to News Feed, Hong proceeded to joke about matters of the government — which quickly got her into hot water. Although her actual comment was not recorded, it insulted the bunch of people she was performing for. Her punishment? Six months of labor at Jikdong Youth Coal Mine in the city of Sunchon, located in the South Pyongan province, reports the source.

IB Times adds, the comedian didn’t even get a chance to say goodbye to her family before being shipped off.

They must be joking! … No pun intended.
