Former MasterChef contestant Josh Marks was recently found dead. Here are the 5 Fast Facts on the reality star and the details surrounding his death.
1. Marks Was Found in an Alley
According to TV Guide, Marks was found in a Chicago alleyway after a woman called 911. The Chicago Tribune reported:
Police responded to a call of a body found at 6:45 p.m. Friday in the 9700 block of South Peoria Avenue in the city’s Longwood Manor neighborhood and found Marks lying face up on the ground, unresponsive and bleeding from the head. Fire department personnel were already there.
2. The Death Was a Suicide

Clearly, Marks was a man with many troubles, especially suffering from bipolar disorder. The body was found with a gunshot wound to the head and a gun lying nearby. Marks was only 26 years old, TMZ reports. The Chicago Tribune had a full report on the time of death stating:
The victim, of the South Side, was pronounced dead at 6:37 p.m. on the scene, according to a spokesman for the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
3. Relatives and Friends Were on the Scene
Apparently, an acquaintance along with some relatives of Marks’ were on the scene, but it’s undetermined when they had arrived. The Chicago Tribune stated:
Police said an acquaintance and two relatives of the victim were on the scene and one of the relatives told police that the victim suffered from schizophrenia and bipolar disorder and he was distraught about something, police said.
4. The Man Was Mentally Ill
Josh Marks was arrested just a couple months ago and claimed he was possessed by Chef Gordon Ramsay. Marks had become violent with police and even tried to steal an officer’s gun. Marks blamed Gordon Ramsay, saying he was transformed into God after being possessed by the celebrity chef. TV Guide reports that:
The incident came five months after Marks recorded a video for “Make a Sound Project,” in which he revealed that he had bipolar disorder.

Josh Marks came in second to Christine Ha in Season 3 of the Fox cooking competition called MasterChef. It’s sad to see Mark’s life take such a negative turn.
