WATCH: ‘How I Met Your Mother’ on ‘Inside The Actors Studio’

The cast of How I Met Your Mother got together to appear on Inside The Actors Studio as part of their farewell to the series. Here’s the rundown on what went on … One of the first questions that host James Lipton asked Neil Patrick Harris was, “What is the “bro code?” He replied that the “bro code” is a list of rules that “bros” should follow when trying to get laid. Lipton then requests that “Barney” answer a few questions. With that, NPH gets right into character. Lipton asks him if he’s a sociopath and if he’s metrosexual, among other things. Neil Patrick Harris answered everything in character and even his fellow cast-mates joined in.

Alyson Hannigan was next. Lipton said that she was cast because the show creators were big fans of the television show Buffy The Vampire Slayer, on which Hannigan played the character “Willow.”

Lipton then asks about Hannigan’s famous phrase, “This one time at band camp …” When asked to choose her favorite scene on How I Met Your Mother, Hannigan chose the emotional moment when she has to tell Marshall that his father has died. After the video clip, Hannigan then gets into character to answer some questions as well. As “Lily,” she openly admits to finding “Robin” attractive. Hannigan (Lily) then kisses Smulders (Robin) on the lips.

Jason Segel talks about his nudity and then gets into character and reveals that “Barney” is due one slap that could come at any time. We wonder when that will happen.

Cobie Smulders was up next as her character “Robin,” who talks about her love of cigars, scotch, and guns. Then, after a short clip, the whole gang starts singing the “Bang Bang Bangity Bang” song, which celebrates sex.

Next up is “Ted,” who talks about how he corrects people a lot, but feels that someone needs to do it. He then opens up about his How I Met Your Mother family.

After a commercial break, Neil Patrick Harris does a quick face time with his kids and it was very sweet … completely out of character for “Barney.” Check out the adorable clip below:

Lastly, at the end of the episode, Neil Patrick Harris and Jason Segel brilliantly performed the confrontation from Les Miserables. It was incredible.

Farewell to the beloved cast of How I Met Your Mother.
