‘Sin City 2′: Top 10 Facts You Need to Know

Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For will be released in the U.S. on August 22, 2014. In the meantime, we’ve got all the facts on the film for you right here. Check out all the facts on the awesome movie below.

1. Bruce Is Back

Bruce Willis will return in the movie as his character John Hartigan. Screen Rant gives details on his appearance:

One of the new Sin City 2 stories features Nancy on the run from Senator Roark’s (Powers Boothe) men, after Hartigan slays his murderous son and commits suicide to protect her. It’s that segment where Willis could make a prominent appearance (through flashbacks and/or dream sequences), though a fleeting cameo in another part of the film – “Saturday Night,” for continuity’s sake – isn’t out of the question.

2. Joseph Gordon-Levitt Has Joined the Cast

Co-director Robert Rodriguez gave the run-down to MTV on Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s part in the film telling them that:

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is in for a world of hurt. Rodriguez revealed that the “Dark Knight Rises” actor plays “a very cocky gambler who comes in and tries to beat the biggest villain in Sin City at his own game” in a story called “The Long, Bad Night.”

Apparently, things go downhill for JGL pretty quickly in the film.

3. Sin City 2 Will Be in 3D

Robert Rodriguez talks about how 3D film will be incorporated in the movie and how it will take everything to a new level.

We’re really playing with stuff because that’s a very two dimensional world and to see that stylization in 3D, it’ll blow people’s minds. 3D hasn’t been used like this yet.

4. The Movie Will Combine Two Original Sin City Comics

Sin City 2 will primarily keep its focus on two comic stories, according to Screen Rant.

The Sin City 2 script – written by Miller and William Monahan (The Departed) – is expected to incorporate two original Sin City graphic novel stories, “A Dame to Kill For” and “Just Another Saturday Night.” “Dame” takes us back before “The Big Fat Kill” (a.k.a. the Clive Owen segment in the first movie) and explores Dwight McCarthy’s (now played by Josh Brolin) past, revealing the truth behind his facial reconstruction. Meanwhile, “Saturday Night” follows Marv (Mickey Rourke) on an adventure the same night that Hartigan meets up with Nancy (Jessica Alba) in the first Sin City installment.

In addition to these two stories, there will be additional ones as well.

5. A Ton of Other Hollywood Big Wigs Are in the Film

Jaime King as Goldie/Wendy, Ray Liotta as Joey, Juno Temple as Sally, and Jeremy Piven as Bob will all be appearing in the movie. Josh Brolin as Dwight McCarthy, Rosario Dawson as Gail, Jamie Chung as Miho, and Christopher Meloni as Mort will all be involved as well.
