The rumor mill is churning once again, but this time Page Six is reporting that model Padma Lakshmi and Richard Gere are an item. Read on for the facts.

1. The Two Supposedly Got Together While Gere Was Filming

A source has told Page Six that Gere was filming when he first got involved with Lakshmi.

They have been quietly spending some time together. It is all very new and recent, and happened while he has been filming in New York.

A source told Us Weekly a little bit about Gere and Lakshmi’s relationship:

It started very recently and quietly. It’s very new. I wouldn’t even go as far as calling them a couple. They are dating. It’s the first time Padma has dated anyone since Teddy [Forstmann], and it’s something she’s been approaching very, very delicately. They just getting to know each other. They’re just having fun.

2. Lakshmi Kissed a Photo of Richard Gere at the amfAR Gala in 2012

Clearly, Padma Lakshmi thinks Richard Gere is a good-looking man. In February 2012, Padma was on stage at the amfAR Gala and kissed a framed photo of Richard Gere. Bloginity reports:

3. Gere Is in the Middle of a Divorce

In September 2013, it was reported that Gere and his wife Carey Lowell were calling it quits after 11 years of marriage. They have a 14-year-old son named Homer James Jigme Gere together and co-owned the Bedford Post Inn in Westchester County, according to Page Six.

Lakshmi and her daughter reside in New York, though Lakshmi often travels for her role as host of reality competition series Top Chef. The twelfth season of the series will premiere in late 2014.

4. Both Lakshmi and Gere Have Previously Been Married

Besides Gere’s estranged wife Lowell, he was also previously married to Cindy Crawford. As for Lakshmi’s dating and married life, Page Six writes:

Lakshmi, also a former model, was married to author Salman Rushdie for three years until they divorced in 2007. She then dated billionaire Teddy Forstmann until he died of brain cancer in 2011. The foodie also has a beautiful 3-year-old daughter, Krishna Thea Lakshmi-Dell, with Adam Dell, the venture capitalist brother of computer maker Michael Dell.
