James ‘Jimmy’ Safechuck, New Alleged Michael Jackson Molestation Victim: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

1. Jackson Had Safechuck in His 1987 Pepsi Commercial

Safechuck was with Michael Jackson, often traveling with the star. He even appeared in Jackson’s 1987 Pepsi commercial. The Daily Beast makes note of many times that Safechuck was seen out and about with the late legend.

By early 1988, little Jimmy Safechuck seemed constantly at Jackson’s side. In February, the odd couple was photographed at the Kahala Hilton Hotel in Hawaii where they attended a Pepsi conference … There was also the obligatory shopping spree at the famous F.A.O. Schwarz toy store across from Central Park. In July, Safechuck traveled with Jackson to England for an awards ceremony for the wildly popular entertainer and a string of Bad Tour concerts at Wembley Stadium.

2. Safechuck and Michael Jackson Were Often Spotted Out Together in the ’80s

TMZ reports that rumors of Safechuck’s close relationship with Jackson were chatted about often in the 1980’s.

There were rumors about Jackson’s relationship with Safechuck in the late 80s … the singer was often seen with the young boy following their commercial together … including the opening performance of “The Phantom of the Opera” with Liza Minnelli.

Safechuck is now a computer programmer, married with two children, living in Southern California. Safechuck’s father was, and still is, employed in waste management.

3. Safechuck Denied Sexual Abuse for Years

Over the years, Safechuck denied ever being abused by Michael Jackson, but you can read Safechuck’s recent claims in the above court documents. The Daily Beast further reports:

The latest sexual assault complaint, filed in court last Friday, remains sealed, but two sources close to the case revealed that the man involved is James Safechuck … Safechuck was mentioned as a potential abuse victim by employees of Jackson’s Neverland Ranch in court documents filed ahead of the star’s 2005 criminal trial, but he always denied that Jackson had molested him. Now, the sources said, Safechuck’s complaint claims that Jackson groomed him and molested him for several years beginning when he was 10 years old.

Neverland Ranch staffers previously stated that they believed Safechuck had been a victim of sexual abuse by Michael Jackson. One of the maids said she saw Safechuck in bed with Jackson without a shirt on. In addition, Radar Online reports:

During the 2005 criminal proceedings, in which Jackson was found not guilty, one manager of the “Heal The World” singer’s Neverland estate testified he’d seen Jackson and Safechuck in a jacuzzi, at which time the “Will You Be There” singer had his hands “down the front of Jimmy’s underpants and was manipulating the boy’s genitalia.”

5. Wade Robson Prompted Safechuck to Speak Up

The Daily Beast reports that Wade Robson’s case against Michael Jackson was actually what made Safechuck decide to file his claim.

Safechuck added his name to a suit originally filed by Wade Robson in May 2013. … Last year, he alleged in a civil suit against Jackson’s estate that the singer had forced him to perform sex acts. Both Robson, who was once a top Hollywood choreographer, and Safechuck, 36, are represented by the L.A. law firm of Gradstein & Marzano. Partners in that firm declined to comment on their latest filing.
