Kat and her ex-husband had a band together, but when they divorced six months later, Kat pretty much divorced the music business as well. The Voice is the first chance she’s had to go solo.

On last night’s episode of The Voice, Kat Perkins turned Pharrell’s light song “Lucky” into a delightfully dark rock song. It was truly unique and amazing. Check it out in the above video clip.

4. Perkins Has a Band With Children at Home

Before joining The Voice, Perkins was a nanny for a family named the Kellers. Check out the Kellers cheering for their nanny at their home. According to her NBC bio:

She’s currently a full-time nanny for a family of five, with whom she created an unofficial band for fun.

Mom Stephannie Kellar said that they miss her terribly, but hope she does well and that she never has to be a nanny again.

5. She’s Performed With Bon Jovi

Perkins has apparently played all over the country and even alongside superstar Bon Jovi. Her Facebook profile reads:

Since my 15th birthday, I’ve been navigating my way through the crazy world that is the music industry.
