Lucille & Kidd Cole, ‘Catfish’: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

On this week’s episode of Catfish, Lucille is trying to figure out if Kidd Cole is the real deal. Read on for the facts on what we know and to watch footage from tonight’s episode, but beware of a big spoiler.

1. Lucille Wonders if a Music Producer Is Actually a Scam

On tonight’s episode, a woman named Lucille wonders if she’s been scammed out of money by a guy named Kidd Cole who is supposed to be a music producer. Have a look at a 10-minute clip from tonight’s episode above.

2. Kidd Cole Claims to Be Working With Kanye West

Kidd Cole allegedly told Lucille that he was the youngest person signed to Kanye West’s label. Plus, Kidd Cole was actually on the MTV Artists website, where it says he’s signed a deal with G.O.O.D. Music as an in-house producer. His Facebook page even reads:

Kidd Cole is an English hip hop record producer. Best known for executive producing Beyonce’s ” Drunk in Love ”.

According to People:

Anyone can make a MTV artist page and GOOD Music doesn’t represent a Kidd Cole. They haven’t even heard the name. Even sketchier, most of the rapper’s Soundcloud tracks are actually other people’s music with the track name changed.

3. “Co-Manager Miguel” Asks Lucille to Help Out Kidd Cole

A man named Miguel contacts Lucille claiming to be Kidd Cole’s co-manager and he invites her to his birthday party. He then sends her a list of celebrities who were supposed to be at the party. These names included Robin Thicke, Pharrell, Jaden Smith, Kanye West, and Big Sean. “Miguel” asks Lucille to help out and be the contact person for the event as well as his business in the D.C. area.

So, Lucille jumped at the chance and booked appearances for Kidd Cole, but she claims that everything was a “fiasco.” Then, “Miguel” disappeared.

4. Jerez Coleman Is the Catfish

Jerez Coleman is the name of the catfish on tonight’s episode. According to Times Dispatch, Coleman’s currently awaiting a mental evaluation after he was caught scamming Virginia Commonwealth University into thinking he was arranging an appearance by Big Sean. Judge Bradley B. Cavedo has made the following judgment thus far:

Cavedo arranged to have Coleman evaluated to determine not only his competence to assist in his defense but to determine if he was sane at the time of the alleged crime.

Coleman’s next hearing is scheduled for August 8, 2014.

5. There Is Actually a Facebook Page Titled “KIDD COLE AKA KING COLE SCAM Artist”

According to a Facebook page with the name “KIDD COLE AKA KING COLE SCAM Artist,” Jerez Coleman has actually scammed many people. Apparently, Lucille isn’t the first person to fall victim to Coleman’s lies. In fact, one of Coleman’s victims put together this page and continues to put up posts in order to expose him to the public as much as possible. And, they teamed up with Lucille for a “payback” Facebook pic as well.
