2. This Morning the Guys Performed Live on the Radio
Today, 5SOS performed live on Elvis Duran’s morning show, creating a big trend on twitter – #5SOSonElvis. Plus, on iHeartRadio at 7:00 p.m. EST, you can watch the guys perform their hit song “She Looks So Perfect.” On Elvis Duran, the guys showed up, answering fun questions and then performed their song “Amnesia,” which is a softer melody. They followed this up with a performance of Katy Perry’s song “Teenage Dream.” Check out their live performance of “Amnesia” in the above audio video.

3. Kendall Jenner Messed Up Their First Big U.S. Performance
At the 2014 Billboard Music Awards, the guys made their first U.S. performance, which was highly anticipated by their massive fan base. Kendall Jenner made the announcement on stage and completely flubbed it, almost calling them One Direction. She then tried to laugh off the situation, saying she shouldn’t leave home without wearing her contacts. Don’t worry, though. There’s more big performances to come.
Another big U.S. performance is coming as the guys were the second performers announced to be performing at MTV’s Video Music Awards in August.
4. One Direction Helped Sky-Rocket the Group to Fame
Though the group gained a ton of fame on YouTube, their touring with One Direction really seemed to elevate their career. Wikipedia writes:
These members were originally YouTube celebrities, who posted videos of themselves covering songs from various artists in 2011. From there, they started to gain a small following in 2012 after posting a series of cover versions of popular songs onto YouTube, then rose to international fame when One Direction invited them on their Take Me Home Tour.
In addition to the Take Me Home Tour, 5SOS has also joined One Direction on their Where We Are Tour … So, how did these two bands get connected? Both One Direction and 5SOS are managed by Modest Management, which led to 5SOS also being labeled as a boy band, but unlike many boy bands, the group writes their own songs, they don’t really dance, and they play their own instruments.
As for the guys’ additional touring, they will be killing it on the Rock Out With Your Socks Out Tour in May and June 2015. The tour will carry on throughout the UK, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. Also, on September 4, 2014, the guys will be performing for the iTunes Festival.
5. The Guys Put Themselves On a Sex Ban
5SOS previously put themselves on a “girlfriend ban” because they have no time to focus on dating right now. Ashton told The Sun:
I don’t even know half the time where we are so there is just no time for girls. We don’t want a girl in every city. We really want to make something of ourselves so we’re very focused on the band for now.
Luke then added:
I don’t think you need a girlfriend or an arrangement.
So, the bad news is the guys aren’t looking for dates right now, but the good news is that they’re all available.
