Lana Del Rey’s talent and tendency to speak her mind have made headlines again.

In her new album, Ultraviolence, which debuted at Number 1 in June, she takes on some heavy themes.

The Black Keys’ frontman Dan Auerbach, who produced her album, told Rolling Stone:

Every criticism that I’d ever heard about her was proven wrong when I was in the studio with her. From how great the songs were to how confident she is as a musician to her fucking singing every song live, with a handheld microphone and a seven-piece band. I mean, get the f**k out of here, who does that? Nobody does that, there hasn’t been a number one pop record that was recorded like that in forty, fifty years.

This is what you should know about her personal life and chart-topping career.

Will you still love me when I’m no longer young and beautiful / Will you still love me when I got nothing but my aching soul / I know you will, I know you will / I know that you will
