The synopsis by ABC Family reads: Aria, Emily, Hanna, and Spencer feel trapped and search desperately for a way out of a bad situation.

  • TVLine reported on June 26, 2014, that Mona’s mother, Leona, will be introduced in the summer finale and will be played by Sydney Penny. This could foreshadow that something big happens to Mona.

  • Alison (Sasha Pieterse) confronts Emily (Shay Mitchell) about the bold accusation and we wonder if Alison is “A,” but we’re told that we do not find out who “A” is this season … Nonetheless, it is revealed that Allison is “A.”

  • As the theme of the finale is “Fatal” and titled “Taking This One to the Grave,” many believe that Emily will die. Others believe that the significant others are at risk: Caleb, Toby, Paige, or Ezra. Mona is also said to be a possible target. And, the last theory is that Alison may fake her death again since her friends have turned on her and the police are “closing in on her.”

  • Sasha Pieterse reveals to the NY Post:

There’s a lot of mistrust and misunderstandings. Alison feels betrayed and so do the girls in certain ways. Basically there’s just a lot of trouble. The girls don’t feel safe but neither does Alison and because of Alison’s nature, there’s repercussions from that always.

  • Pieterse says she was very surprised at who the show kills off tonight:

I was genuinely surprised that this is who they chose. It’s going to be really interesting to see how fans react to it…. I don’t know if they’re going to be unhappy about it, but they’re definitely going to be shocked.

When Lucy Hale opened up about the finale to Wetpaint, she stated:

This, for me, is one of the most shocking and one of the most heartbreaking episodes of Pretty Little Liars we’ve ever done. What happens is very heartbreaking, and I, personally, did not see it coming from a million miles away.
