Jacqueline Laurita comes back to the Real Housewives of New Jersey. Read on for the facts on her rifts with cast members, her fight against autism, and her financial status.
1. Laurita’s Youngest Son Suffers from Autism
Nicholas is Laurita’s youngest son who happens to have autism. Laurita has been fighting and struggling to help her son be the best he can be over the past few years. We’ve seen the ups and downs on the show after Nicholas stopped saying “I Love You” and Laurita was heart-broken. Eventually, Nicholas improved and he reportedly continues to improve today. Laurita told Reality Tea:
It was difficult filming season 3 and 4 when Nicholas was regressing and before he was diagnosed. Our focus changed. And what was important has changed. Priorities. Who was copying someone else’s eye shadow was no longer meaningful. The show did provide me with a platform for raising autism awareness. And the amount of people who reached out was huge … We were not ashamed of our son. And we don’t want to raise our son to ever be ashamed of it either. The diagnosis is just one piece of who he is as a whole individual.
On RHONJ, we get to see how Nicholas has grown and how Laurita is now dealing with her son’s autism.
2. Teresa Giudice and Jacqueline Laurita Have Had a Bumpy Relationship

Over the course of her time on the show, Jacqueline Laurita had a very rocky relationship with Giudice. Laurita seemed to back up friend Giudice and stick up for her, but became upset that Giudice “wouldn’t tell her the truth” about what was going on in her life. The two had a major problems in their relationship after Giudice reportedly back-stabbed Laurita. At one point, Laurita was in “such a bad place” from her relationship with Giudice, that she was unable to film the reunion special for RHONJ.
Laurita returns to the show, opens up about her issues with Teresa and aims to be there for her former friend while she goes through her legal battles.
3. Dina Manzo Is “Pissed” that Laurita Is Back on RHONJ
Laurita is married to Chris Manzo, the brother to former housewife Caroline Manzo and present housewife Dina Manzo. Laurita reportedly still remains close with Caroline, but her relationship with Dina is said to be strained. This may be because Caroline and Dina had a falling out. Also, Laurita’s daughter Ashlee had a spat with Dina online and Laurita intervened. Ashlee poked fun at her aunt on Instagram and Dina stooped to follow that up with her own tweet reading:
Just a hint of why I stay away” from Holmes and her mom, Laurita.
Laurita jumped in to defend her daughter and wrote:
Really? I thought it was bc our fam knows2much u don’t want public … I’ve stayed quiet a long time4my fam. Ashlee shouldn’t have said anything, but Dina shouldn’t have involved a blogger as if an innocent victim. … Touchy subject.
In addition, Laurita said that Dina Manzo only “acknowledged” her autistic son Nicholas after he was born. Meanwhile, Dina is the godmother to one of Teresa Giudice’s daughters. Though it’s sad that the family has been torn apart, it should be interesting to see how things go with Laurita’s return to RHONJ. TMZ previously reported that Dina Manzo is “pissed” that Laurita is back.
4. Daughter Ashley Has Been a Big Topic on RHONJ in the Past
Laurita’s daughter Ashlee Holmes has been the subject of a lot of drama on RHONJ over past seasons. For years, she fought with her mother to the point that Laurita almost had a nervous breakdown. She also assaulted the much-hated cast-mate Danielle Staub by pulling her hair and the two carried on an online fight through messages and tweets. Eventually, Ashlee found a stable life in California, got some tattoos, and built a great bond with her mother, so the two got their own happy ending.
Since leaving, Ashlee has slammed the show on Twitter and voiced her disdain for the way she was “portrayed” on TV.
5. Laurita And Her Husband Have Been Fighting Financial Issues
In January 2014, Laurita’s house was put on the market. It was reported that she and husband Chris Manzo needed to lighten their financial burdens due to lawsuits, medical expenses for their son, and business troubles. FameWhorgas writes:
Jacqueline Laurita’s home in Franklin Lakes, NJ was put on the market on January 5, 2014 for $2,850,000. Before Chris married Jacqueline in 2002, he purchased the home on November 30, 2001 for $1,720,000 – the home is still in his name only. The home was last assessed in 2013 for $2,199,200 with yearly taxes of $34,242 … Perhaps the Lauritas are selling their home due to financial distress, or maybe they are trying to liquidate their assets before the case against them concerning their bankrupt business, Signature Apparel, goes to trial.
In past seasons, it was made clear by Chris Manzo that their water company blk was very important to their finances as they were going through a lot in business. So, their financial issues are nothing new to RHONJ viewers. As far as their most recent legal case goes:
In 2005, Chris and his brother Joseph formed a clothing company called Signature Apparel. In September 2009, the company’s creditors pushed the company into bankruptcy protection. The company’s creditors accused the Laurita brothers of diverting funds from the company for personal expenses and transferring company funds to family members and other family businesses, draining the company so dry that it was an empty shell and creditors couldn’t be paid. A lawsuit filed against the Lauritas by the company’s creditors is still pending.
Laurita and husband Manzo’s net worth is reported to be $500,000.
