As The Big Bang Theory returned with Season 8, so did Laura Spencer, as Raj’s new girlfriend.
In tonight’s episode, “The Hook-Up Reverberation,” Emily finally meets the gang.
Here’s what you need to know about the actress.
1. She’s Raj’s Love Interest
The producer and writer of the show, Steve Molaro dished to TV Guide that the couple reappears in Season 8.
“But she and Raj are still going strong, and we’ll learn more about her here and there,” he dished.
Another spoiler he gave was the fact that Penny will not be a fan at first.
“She and Penny don’t get off on the best foot and Penny makes it her mission to get Emily to like her,” Molaro added.
2. She’s on ‘Bones’ Too

The actress is playing double sitcom duty with a role on Bones.
She joined the cast as a love interest for Sweets.
Molaro had this to say about the situation to TV Line:
We are aware [of her Bones role], and they are aware that we are using her, too…I’m sure it will be one of those things where we can work it out, scheduling-wise, [with Bones] and it’ll all be OK.
3. She’s Part of WIGS
Started in May 2012, WIGS is an online channel, part of the YouTube Original Channel Initiative.
The channel shows short films, all with female leads like Julia Stiles, Anna Paquin, and Troian Bellisario.
Spencer acted in multiple series on the channel, and said, “They are all equally amazing opportunities.”
4. She Does Commercials
You may definitely recognize Spencer from her roles in national ads.
Her campaigns include Skittles, above, and Sprint, below.
5. She’s From Oklahoma

She earned a BFA in theater from the University of Oklahoma.
According to her school’s alumni website, she taught children’s audition classes at The Actor Factory in Norman, Oklahoma.
