“Becoming an Angel was a huge achievement, the turning point in my career. It’s made me a household name – very few models get that chance anymore,” she told Net a Porter.

However, the California girl did not have her heart set on modeling. In fact, she told Harper’s Bazaar, “Being a Victoria’s Secret Angel was probably the last thing I thought I’d be when I was younger—I wanted to be a KROQ DJ and a soccer player.”

Besides walking in Victoria’s Secret fashion shows, the brunette has and she also has walked the runway for Rag & Bone and posed for ads for Coach, Clinque and Anthropologie.

In May of 2011, she tied the knot with Kings of Leon frontman Caleb Followill.

“We’re so compatible; he’s the coolest guy I’ve ever met, and my best friend,” she gushed to Net a Porter.

The musician gets his own private show prior to Aldridge strutting her stuff on the runway. She told Harper’s how she prepares for a fashion show at home. “I put on music and walk for my husband,” she explained.

3. Her Mother Was a Playboy Playmate

Her mother, Laura Lyons, was a Playboy playmate in the ’70s.

As a youngster, Aldridge found this out accidentally. She told Esquire, “When I was like 10 or 11, I found a copy of Playboy in my dad’s studio, and I ran to tell my mom! I thought it meant he’d had an affair or something! But my mom was amazing about it – she sat me down and explained that she was one of the Playmates. And I thought it was the coolest thing!”

The women in her family are also involved in the business.

Lily’s half-sister Saffron is an ex Ralph Lauren model and younger sister Ruby also modeled.

4. Her Baby Already Modeled for Vogue

Her and Followill’s first child, a daughter, Dixie Pearl, was born in 2012, and a year later, already made her modeling debut in Vogue, shown above.

As far as being able to manage her career and being a mother, she told Romy and the Bunnies, “It’s all about balance. I love my career and love to work, but obviously now Dixie is my main priority so I only do jobs that I love!”

She dished to Harper’s that motherhood has made her more fashion forward:

I’ve actually become more excited about fashion since becoming a mom. I just love it so much, before I would just wear t-shirts and jeans everyday, and now i love dressing up. Maybe it’s because you’re pregnant for so long, and limited to what you can wear, that you get excited about it again.
