Miss Idaho Sierra Sandison wore her insulin pump during the preliminary competition and is again wearing her insulin pump during tonight’s 2015 Miss America swimsuit segment. Sandison kicked things off as the first contestant to hit the stage and she was not shy. Sandison wears the pump on her hip to help treat her Type 1 diabetes. Miss America 1999 Nicole Johnson was actually the first contestant to wear an insulin pump and she was the first diabetic Miss America in history.
