‘Fake Off’ TV Show Premiere Spoilers, Cast & Judges

Fake Off is a talent show where ten teams of performers recreate iconic moments from pop culture - from video games to movies. The teams are judged by Harry Shum Jr. of Glee, Michael Curry from Cirque du Soleil, and Rozanda Chilli Thomas of girl group TLC. The host of the show is Robert Hoffman, an esteemed dancer and choreographer. His Tru TV bio reads: He shared an American Choreographer Award for the film You Got Served, in which he also co-starred. He also starred in Step Up 2: The Streets and has been seen dancing in such films as Guess Who?, Coach Carter, Pirates of the Caribbean and Vanilla Sky. He is also one of the breakout stars of MTV's Nick Cannon Presents: Wild 'n Out. As a dancer, Hoffman has also worked with such stars as Christina Aguilera, Usher, Mya, Marilyn Manson and Ricky Martin. A Florida native, Hoffman began his dance training while still in kindergarten. After high school, he joined Ballet South, headed by American Ballet Company legend Wes Chapman. The Hollywood Reporter reviewed the new show, writing: Its setup feels like a broadcast competition series, which makes sense since the show is a pastiche of many successful forebears ... Each judge awards the performances a score from 1 to 10, which are added up and then combined with the audience's score (which is weighted like a fourth judge, a la Dancing With the Stars). The ultimate prize for the winning team (one is eliminated each week starting in the second round) is $100,000 ... The troupes, who hail from across the country, employ techniques that combine digitization and media with more traditional aspects of performance, specializing in things like black light, shadow dancing, puppetry, video mapping, light wire, and more. The final products are often mesmerizing. Overall, The Hollywood Reporter thinks the show is fun, easy to follow, and a good start to a new format of shows for TruTV.
