On tonight’s episode of Saturday Night Live, the show paid tribute to SNL veteran Jan Hooks who passed away this week. Here’s a video clip of Jan Hooks at her best on SNL.

Kristen Wiig joined tonight’s host Bill Hader on stage to introduce a clip dedicated to Hooks for her time on the show. The video clip was a musical skit, featuring the late Phil Hartman.

In the 80’s and 90’s, Hooks was a prominent cast member on the show, who later went on to starring on the TV show Designing Women. She also appeared in the movies Coneheads, Batman Returns, and Pee Wee’s Big Adventure. Hooks passed away on the morning of October 9, 2014 in New York City at only 57 years old. The actress had reportedly been battling a “serious illness.” Prior to joining the cast of Saturday Night Live, Hooks dated SNL alum Kevin Nealon. When Hooks passed away, Nealon stated:

She so immersed herself in her characters, and her timing was amazing. She got it from some crazy stratosphere, and I was so attracted to that talent in her, and I don’t think she ever knew how well respected and admired she was for her talent … I only wish she knew how well respected and admired she was. This is such a loss.

Hooks was on SNL from 1986 to 1991.
