Last year at the MTV EMAs, Ariana Grande helped present and give commentary at the awards, but she didn’t perform or take the stage in a big way. This year will be very different. Grande has stated:
I’m definitely looking forward to being part of the party onstage this year.
With her “Bang Bang” collaborator Nicki Minaj as the show host, fans are hoping for a performance of their hit song at the event.
Councillor Gordon Matheson, Leader of Glasgow City Council and Chair of Glasgow City Marketing Bureau, is very excited for the EMAs. Upon announcing Grande’s performance news, he stated:
The MTV EMA will showcase Glasgow to more than half a billion households through MTV’s global network of channels; reinforcing our reputation as a world-class music destination. In addition to delivering a significant boost to our economy – providing a base on which local businesses, creative industries and the tourism sector can capitalise – it will also position Glasgow alongside its key competitors, and previous host cities, including Paris, London, Milan, Barcelona, Rome, Berlin and Madrid.
In addition to the excitement of Grande performing, fans are hoping to see the superstar’s boyfriend Big Sean there to support his girl. Think the couple will make an appearance together?
