Tonight, Bethany Mota and Derek Hough brought power and energy to their performances on Dancing With the Stars. They started out with a past routine of the jive to Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off,” chosen by judge Bruno Tonioli. Bruno said that when Mota first did the dance, she had trouble with the transitions. He gave her a few tips and told her to “sell it.” Mota did have a few instances that were a little sloppy unfortunately, but overall she did a very good job, especially because part of the set didn’t move out of their way in time. As judge Carrie Ann commented on the mistakes in the routine, Derek Hough interrupted her to tell her what an amazing dress she was wearing in hopes of distracting her. Nonetheless, they received a 36 out of 40.

For Bethany’s second routine, Hough wanted to give her something powerful because she seems to excel in those kind of routines. The routine is dedicated to Mota’s fans and supporters. The routine was fierce, sharp and filled with intensity. Judge Len Goodman said their routine was a 5-star freestyle dance. In turn, Mota and Hough received a perfect score, with a 76 out of 80 for their final score. Check out Mota’s freestyle dance below.
Sadly, we had to say goodbye to Bethany and Derek tonight as they were sent home.
