Bella Hadid is the beautiful daughter of Real Housewives star Yolanda Foster, daughter to real estate mogul Mohamed Hadid, and sister to supermodel Gigi Hadid. Over the summer, Bella was arrested for a DUI and Foster was devastated by her daughter’s choice to get behind the wheel. One of the biggest reasons this hit home for Foster was because her own father was killed in a car accident. According to TMZ:
Bella was driving on PCH at around 4 AM when she allegedly blew through a stop sign and almost collided with an L.A. County Sheriff’s Dept. patrol car. Bella was pulled over and the deputy detected a strong odor of alcohol. Bella blew a .14 — which approaches double the legal limit — but because she’s a minor it’s even worse. She can’t drive with ANY alcohol in her system.
Bella was also driving on a suspended license when the incident occurred, so she was arrested. Her stepfather David Foster had to pick her up from the police station. Yolanda Foster opened up in her Bravo blog about the incident, writing:
This reckless choice was so shocking and disappointing to me. I raised her as a single mom most of her life, so immediately I started to take it personally, blaming myself and doubting my parenting skills … My greatest fear is to lose any of my children in a car accident the way I lost my father when I was only seven years old … Even though David and Mohamed were in California with Bella holding down the fort, I was so scared of the danger Bella put herself and others in by making such a reckless choice. All I wanted was to get home. I cried so much that night.
Foster also revealed how Bella was punished for her “big mistake,” stating:
I decided to take her phone away, make her pay for her own lawyer bills from her savings, and we sold her car. The court suspended her license for one year, she received six months probation, and was required to conduct 25 hours of community service and 20 hours of AA meetings. Bella has always been a very conscientious child, so dealing with a heart filled with regret plus the consequences and shame of her actions has been a tough burden for her to bear. Life taught her that sometimes good people make bad choices but that it doesn’t mean they are bad people…it means they are human.
Like her sister, Bella has moved to New York City and attends school (Parsons) while working as a model. Aside from modeling, Bella has other talents. Hadid began riding horses at age 3 and has won many awards for riding throughout her equestrian career, according to her mother Yolanda Foster. Bella has competed as a nationally ranked equestrian and was training to compete at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It’s unknown if Bella still has Olympic-sized goals.
Prior to moving to New York City, Hadid worked at an organic smoothie bar called SunLife Organics in Malibu, California.
