1. Minaj Went Through A Volatile Break Up With Her Long-Term Boyfriend

Over the summer, Minaj and her longtime boyfriend Safaree Samuels broke up and the situation got physical as Minaj bashed in his Mercedes’ windows with a bat. Fortunately, Minaj didn’t go to jail because it was legally her car that she let him drive. TMZ reported:
During the summer, Nicki and Safaree Samuels got into an argument. She started screaming, he got pissed, and she EXPLODED in anger, grabbing a bat and chasing him out of the house. She wisely chose property over person, and pulverized the 2012 Benz. And for bad measure, she threw his clothes in the garbage — just like in the movies. Law enforcement sources tell us … cops were called to the house, but no arrests were made. Safaree was escorted out of the house and left.
The couple broke up shortly after the incident.
2. She Was Rumored To Recently Be Dating Drake
Minaj has featured hip-hop artist Drake in her videos for him to ogle her on camera and the two have been rumored to be dating, but the two music stars have said that it’s not the case. Hollywood Life reports a source as saying:
Nicki Minaj wants to date, but will not date anybody super famous because she wants to be the most famous person in the room. Her ego will not allow anyone to take her spotlight. So she will for sure hookup with Drake but they will never be a couple.

After Nicki’s new song “Only” revealed that she and former flame Drake have never hooked up, he posted a fan-made cartoon, which showed Nicki singing into a microphone, while giving him a sexy lap dance. A little bubble over Drake’s head said, “How about now?” (So steamy!)
3. Minaj Has Had Issues With Rap Sensation Iggy Azalea
In Minaj’s acceptance speech for Best Female Hip Hop Artist at the BET Awards this past summer, she dissed Iggy Azalea saying that she writes all her own lyrics, unlike some other female rap artists. These were her words:
I thank God that I’ve been placed in a position to do something and represent women in a culture that is so male-driven. What I want the world to know about Nicki Minaj is, that when you hear Nicki Minaj spit, Nicki Minaj wrote it.
She also posted tweets about racism and how some people in the industry get to cut corners.
Rapper T.I. felt the need to step in to squash the feud, but Minaj denied that her acceptance speech was even about Iggy. Minaj explained:
My point of saying what I said was that women need to have a perspective. If we’re out here saying that we’re so confident, and we’re so this and so that, but we don’t even trust ourselves to write down our own thoughts and spit it on a beat? It just doesn’t add up.

4. “The Pinkprint” Is Minaj’s New Album
Nicki Minaj’s new album “The Pinkprint” is full of insanely awesome songs and collaborations. The most recent single released from it is “Bed Of Lies,” which got rave reviews from her performance at the 2014 American Music Awards with music artist Skylar Grey. Minaj also has a song with Chris Brown, Lil Wayne and Drake titled “Only” and it’s reportedly about her relationship with Drake, how the two of them have never had sex. Fashion N Style reports:
The Pinkprint’s” tracklist features some pretty big guest stars, and according to Minaj, the collaborations are worth the wait. Minaj said we’ll love her duet with Beyoncé, she called the Ariana Grande collaboration “sexy” and said her song with rapper Meek Mill is “fucking perfect.

5. Minaj’s Father Tried To Kill Her Mother
When Minaj was growing up, her childhood was extremely rough. Minaj’s father was a drug addict and alcoholic, who attempted to kill Minaj’s mother by setting their house on fire. Minaj lived with her grandmother until she was 5 years old and was visited by her mother every once in a while. She later moved with her mom to Queens, New York.
Minaj’s father eventually went to rehab and was “saved by the church.” But, her father’s addiction issues wasn’t the only problem Minaj dealt with in her family. In July 2011, Minaj’s cousin Nicholas Telemaque was murdered in Brooklyn.
