Leonard Nimoy has passed away from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease at the age of 83 years old. His last tweet read: A life is like a garden. 1. Susan Bay Nimoy Was the One to Announce her Husband’s Death

According to the New York Times, Susan Bay Nimoy announced her husband’s death. Nimoy said the cause of death was indeed end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
2. She’s The Cousin of Director Michael Bay

Susan Bay Nimoy is the cousin of famous director and producer Michael Bay, whose projects have included the films Armageddon, Pearl Harbor, and Transformers. Bay actually cast Susan’s husband Leonard Nimoy as the voice actor for Sentinel Prime in Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Susan Bay Nimoy is also the cousin of Temple Israel of Hollywood’s Rabbi John Rosove.
3. Prior to Marrying Susan, Nimoy Was Married to Sandra Zober

Nimoy married Zober in 1954 when he was working for the United States Army Special Services Detachment, performing for soldiers at Fort McPherson. They had two children together – Julie Nimoy, born in 1955, and Adam Nimoy, born in 1956. After 32 years of marriage, Nimoy left his wife on her 56th birthday and divorced her in 1987.
4. She Was a Model and an Actress

Susan Bay Nimoy was a model and actress who appeared as the character Admiral Rollman in two episodes of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. She was also a model in Nimoy’s book “Shekhina,” which was made up of monochrome nude photography of women representing Shekhinah, the presence of God in Judaism.
5. Susan Bay Nimoy Was Previously Married to Actor John Schuck

Prior to marrying Nimoy, Susan was married to actor John Schuck, who is most famously known for playing Herman Munster in the 1980’s sitcom. He also often appeared on Star Trek, alongisde Nimoy as a Klingon. The couple had a son named Aaron together and divorced in 1983.
