WWE Fastlane 2015: The Results & Highlights You Need to Know

Nikki Bella (c) (with Brie Bella) vs. Paige (WWE Divas Championship)

Winner: And still the WWE Divas Champion, Nikki Bella!

Results/Highlights: Paige and Nikki ran right into each other and rolled all over the ring before Nikki managed to hop out of the ring. Nikki returned and was grabbed by Paige for a bit before Nikki recovered. Nikki pushed her onto the ring apron and then threw her right into the side ring barrier. Nikki locked Paige in a neck submission for a bit, but Paige eventually fought her way out. Nikki cut her off with an Alabama Slam for the 2-count, though. With both women back on their feet, Nikki looked to attack Paige in the corner. Paige got her boot up just in time to fend off Nikki, which was followed up by a series of Paige’s comeback maneuvers. Paige looked to land her Ram-Paige finisher at one point, but Nikki hopped out of her grasp. Paige still gained the upper hand by kicking Nikki right in her face while she ducked down. Nikki and Paige soon found themselves on the top rope, which resulted in Nikki flipping over Paige with a Sunset Flip and then Powerbombing Paige. Paige kicked out a following pin attempt. Paige soon looked to lock in her submission finisher on Nikki, but Nikki escaped. Nikki then won the match after slamming Paige face first into the corner ring pad and holding her tights for the final pin.


Bad News Barrett (c) vs. Dean Ambrose (WWE Intercontinental Championship)

Winner: Wade Barrett by disqualification…

Results/Highlights: Ambrose started things pretty fiercely and threw Barrett out of the ring. Back in the ring, Ambrose continued to smash Barrett until he got kicked right off the top rope to the outside of the ring. Barrett used the steel ring steps to keep weakening Ambrose. Both men returned to the ring, which led to Barrett laying in his knee to Ambrose in the ring corner. Ambrose found himself locked in a sleep hold, which he soon escaped from. He was met with another Barrett boot and found himself back outside the ring. Barrett further assaulted Ambrose until Ambrose put Barrett down with a rebound lariat. Ambrose then caught Barrett with a Tornado DDT when the action spilled back into the ring. Ambrose went into second gear and pulled of a nice series of moves on his opponent. Barrett looked to land his Winds of Change slam on Ambrose, but Ambrose fought back with a front dropkick and elbow drop off the top rope. Ambrose continued his nice combo of moves, but Barrett soon got back into the match by landing his Wasteland. Barrett reared up his Bull Hammer elbow strike, but Ambrose dodged it and land his devastating lariat once again. Ambrose went for his Dirty Deeds Double Arm DDT, but Barrett escaped and went to leave the match at hand. Ambrose vaulted onto Barrett through the ring ropes and stopped him. Barrett kept on trying to leave the match, but Ambrose cut him off at every attempt. Ambrose continued to kick Barrett, which forced the ref to throw the match out and disqualify Ambrose. For good measure, Ambrose dropped Barrett with his Dirty Deeds and then stole the WWE Intercontinental championship.


Rusev (c) (with Lana) vs. John Cena (WWE United States Championship)

Winner: And still the WWE United States Champion, Rusev!

Results/Highlights: Rusev entered into his fighting stance and threw a few kicks at Cena’s leg. Cena was caught off guard by Rusev’s swift strikes. Cena soon landed a nice punch to Rusev and powered him down with a tackle. Rusev soon got back into the match and struck Cena down once again. Cena looked to break down Rusev even more, but Rusev brought Cena down to the mat with a Spinning Kick. Rusev used his immense frame to splash Cena into the ring corner. While Cena stood on the ring apron, Rusev tackled him and threw him to the outside. Back in the ring, Rusev seemed disturbed by the crowd’s USA chants. Rusev turned right around into a sweet dropkick from Cena, but Rusev returned the favor with a dropkick of his own. As the match continued, Cena landed a few punches on Rusev and went to land his signature series of moves. Rusev caught Cena though and landed a nice Fallaway Slam to cut off Cena’s comeback. Cena laid on the mat as Rusev went to work with a series of elbow drops. Cena hung onto Rusev and got back to his feet, which was followed by Cena attempting to gain some steam. Cena soon found himself locked in a sleeper hold by Rusev. Cena powered out and then landed a suplex to the Russian behemoth. Rusev got back to his feet, but he was put down with a stuff lariat by Cena. Cena looked to land another big move, but Rusev cut him off once again by landing a spike DDT. Rusev then kept splashing Cena into the ring corner right after. Soon enough, Cena finally recovered and went into his signature comeback offense. Cena went to land his AA, but was met with a Rusev side kick instead. Cena managed to kick out of a following pin attempt, though. Cena got slammed soon after with a spinning side slam from Rusev, which only garnered a 2-count. Rusev went for another corner ring splash, but Cena booted him and laid him out with a top rope tornado DDT. When both men got back up, a back and forth strike battle began. Cena got the better of it and then went for another AA. Rusev hung onto the ropes and went for another spinning side slam, but Cena spun out of it and locked in a Crossface submission. Rusev broke the hold and shocked Cena with an Alabama Slam. Cena kicked out of a pin attempt right after, though. Rusev looked to crush Cena with his Accolade submission, but Cena caught Rusev’s leg and locked him into his STF. Rusev found himself locked into Cena’s hold for a while until he made his way to the bottom rope. Both men fought hard to get back to their feet. Rusev ran right into Cena, but almost got put down with an AA. Rusev jumped out of it, kicked Cena and then went for another move before Cena dropped with an AA. Rusev shocked the crowd and actually kicked out. Cena took to the top rope for another big move, but Rusev caught him and countered with a Powerbomb. Rusev immediately locked Cena into The Accolade submission hold. Cena did everything he could to power out of Rusev’s hold, which culminated in Cena eventually getting up with Rusev on his back. All of a sudden, Lana distracted the ref and Rusev landed a low blow on Cena behind the ref’s back. Rusev made Cena faint after another lock-in of The Accolade submission hold.
