Once Upon A Time returns for it’s season 4 winter premiere and we’ve got all the spoilers and cast info to get you ready for a whole new batch of amazing episodes. For the rest of the season, Ursula (Merrin Dungen), Maleficent (Kristin Bauer) and Cruella de Vil (Victoria Smurfit) will be a major part of the storyline and they will team with Rumpelstiltskin (aka Mr. Gold), who has been banished. Show creator Edward Kitsis told IGN:
Maleficent was previously on the show and we always wanted to get back to her which is why we never fully killed her. Ursula we kind of set up a little bit and teased in the Ariel episode and we think she’s a lot of fun. Cruella, we just liked her; there’s a sass to her. What we wanted was for Gold to take the lesson of the heroes who always work together and realize he needed to work together with villains. We just loved the idea of a team of evil and when we were saying our wish list of who we wanted to write, it was kind of these three.
Showrunner Adam Horowitz gave some hints as to new cast members who might come on board in the future, stating:
We have a whole wish list of characters we’d like to bring on and how we would like to incorporate them into our universe.
The winter premiere this season is titled “Darkness on the Edge of Town” and the synopsis is: Following Gold’s banishment, Storybrooke residents try to resume their normal lives; Belle and Hook look for a way to release fairies from the sorcerer’s hat; Regina and Emma confront the true nature of evil.
