Whenever Robert Herjavec is seen strutting around the ballroom on Dancing With the Stars with his beautiful DWTS partner Kym Johnson, viewers are curious to know if he’s still married to wife Diane Plese. Please was a Croatian optometrist and Herjavec was a patient when they met. This was before Herjavec became a multi-millionaire, before they got married, before they had three children and before they decided to separate. The two have been separated since July 2014 and are currently going through a divorce. In the midst of all this, Herjavec has been spotted out and about with Kym Johnson, sharing little kisses with her and smiling whenever the paparazzi ask about the status of his relationship with the dancer.
Since joining the cast of Dancing With the Stars, Herjavec said he’s in a much happier place. When he separated from his wife of 25 years, he was contemplating suicide, telling People:
I just wanted to end it … It’s been a terribly difficult year. We were great parents and a great team, but over time we drifted apart … I was hollow and broken.
Herjavec said the breaking point for him was when his children weren’t speaking to him at the beginning of the split. Herjavec revealed:
Everyone has their kryptonite. For me, it was my kids. It took me to a place I never thought I would go.
As for how Herjavec felt about DWTS and rumored girlfriend Kym Johnson coming to his rescue, he stated:
The entire cast and crew of Dancing with the Stars is evolving into an extended family and is incredibly supportive. Kym has become a great friend, and it is so much fun to be able to share this experience with her.
So, where did it all go wrong for Herjavec and his wife? In a 2013 interview with Movato Home Magazine (in the above video), Herjavec and his wife appeared very happy together. Herjavec bragged about his wife’s style and seemed very content with his life. Well, Herjavec did say that he and his wife made a great team, but they grew apart, so maybe that’s all there is to it.
