Christina McQueen and Steve Hansen take on 21 days in the wilderness without food, water or clothes on an episode of Naked And Afraid. The title of the episode is “Rumble In The Jungle” and the synopsis reads: Christina and Steve tackle the Mexican jungle of Quintana Roo for 21 days, but tensions rise between them. 1. McQueen Is A Ballroom Dance Instructor and Paralegal
Generally, the survivalists on the show work in an industry related to being outdoors, but Christina McQueen is a ballroom dancer and a paralegal. But, some of her hobbies are definitely related to outdoor adventures. Let’s just say she’s a beauty queen mixed with a tomboy. Discovery describes her interests as these:
Christina’s hobbies include golfing, learning to fly airplanes, playing basketball, art, riding horses, paintball, hiking, camping, snow skiing, water skiing, and riding ATV’s. She played basketball for 11 years and won the Ms. Kentucky Teen All American when she was 16. Christina is very adventurous, spontaneous, and will try or do anything once.
2. Hansen’s Name Is Actually Steve Boutwell
Steve is known as Steve Hansen on the show and his professional career, but his Facebook page has his name also as Steve Boutwell. Hansen is an actor, model, host, photographer and life coach. You name it, he does it. His Photography bio reads:
My name is Steve and I’m a writer, photographer and when the right job comes along an actor as well. I love to paint, hike and golf in my spare time.

On Naked And Afraid, Hansen says that McQueen complains every day and he calls her a princess. On an uncomfortable night when they are trying to sleep, McQueen complains about the shelter Hansen put together for them to sleep. The have a full out argument about the conditions and are clearly miserable. McQueen tells Hansen to kiss her ass.
4. Hunting, Fishing, And Building Shelter Are McQueen’s Strongest Skills
Growing up in Kentucky, McQueen was very outdoorsy. Her Discovery bio reads:
Christina McQueen is from East Bernstadt, Kentucky. She became interested in survival skills at a very young age – surviving was the way of life where she lived. Growing up in eastern Kentucky with no running water, no electricity, and very little money, she learned fishing and hunting with her father for food. Christina was always in the woods regardless of snow, rain, or sunshine. Christina would build shelters and forts in the woods, catch crawdads in the stream, track animals, and navigate to new areas frequently.
On her Facebook page, she has predicted her survival skills rating, aka PSR, to be 7.5.
5. Hansen Is Divorced
Steve Hansen is divorced, making both McQueen and himself single. Discover tells the tale of how his divorce changed his life, saying that:
Shortly after his graduation, he married his then fiancee and moved to Florida to live the dream. Little did he know it would end up being a different dream altogether. Three years in, their marriage ended in divorce and Steve began to do some self-reflecting. Slowly but surely, he decided to live his life a little differently than imagined and try things he’d never done before.
That’s when Hansen dove into acting and realized that he also wanted to pursue his love of nature and adventure more.
