In an online profile for a dating auction on Singles Benefit, Strandburg talked about his hobbies, stating:
The thing I enjoy doing most is being out on a body of water. I love boating and jetskiing and could spend the rest of my life floating around. I am a big music fan and love going to concerts or shows and enjoy playing guitar alone or with my friends. I especially enjoy music when its blasting through the sound systems of any of our favorite Nashville bars.

Chris Strandburg earned the nickname “Cupcake” when he arrived on The Bachelorette inside a giant cupcake. Though he’s a dentist, he wanted to show that he enjoys sweetness and can also bring it to the table.
