Yesterday’s episode of Bachelor in Paradise showed a very manipulative and rude side of Joe Bailey, making him the most hated cast member in BIP history. After using Juelia Kinney just to further himself on the show, waiting for Samantha Steffen to arrive, the other cast members are angered by his disrespect. Juelia is a single mother and widow hoping to find love and Joe took advantage of that. To make matters worse, when Samantha arrived, she immediately asked Joe out on a date and the two began a steamy relationship. This hurts Juelia who is also good friends with Samantha. The rest of the cast begins to question Joe and ask if he had been talking to Samantha prior to filming. He admits that they had to some of the cast, while others he lies to and denies every talking to Samantha. Samantha is now revealed to be somewhat in on the scheme since she told the cast that she didn’t know anyone when she arrived. According to the official episode synopsis:
Juelia decides to caution her friend Samantha about Joe but it’s clear her warning falls on deaf ears when Samantha immediately runs off to tell Joe everything that was said about him. Smooth-talking Joe assures his dream girl Samantha that what they have is real, leaving Juelia even further distraught. Meanwhile, rumors about this new couple begin to swirl amongst the group when Tanner reveals to his buddy Jared that the villainous Joe and Samantha have more of a history than they’re admitting. When the guys confront them, they’re met with resistance and more lies, spurring the partners in crime to hatch a new plan to keep their stories straight.
Cast member JJ is particularly upset with Joe and Samantha, believing they have robbed Juelia of her chance to find love. JJ confronts Joe, who begins to lie to JJ’s face. The two almost get into a fist fight over the issue. Also on the JJ front, he goes on a yacht for a date with Megan Bell, but, according to Reality Steve, JJ makes the decision to leave at the rose ceremony. Reality Steve writes:
Not sure if it’s the final rose, but JJ gives his rose to Ashley S., but then gives some speech about how he just recently met someone back home that he was talking to before the show so he wants to explore that. So after giving Ashley S. the rose, he leaves. Mikey Tenerelli then returns to replace of JJ, and he and Juelia are saved.
Ashley S., who has been broken up with by Dan, gets excited when her friend Amber James arrives in Paradise, but Amber asks Dan out on a date, which greatly upsets Ashley. Amber and Dan seem to hit it off on their date and share a romantic stroll in Puerto Vallarta.
The rose ceremony ends up like this (aside from the JJ incident):

Joshua gives his rose to Tenley
Dan gives his rose to Amber
Jared gives his rose to Ashley I.
Tanner gives his rose to Jade
Joe gives his rose to Samantha
Clare Crawley and Megan Bell are eliminated.
