'CSI: Cyber' Season 2 Cast

Season 2 of CSI: Cyber premieres with Ted Danson joining the cast. With CSI: Crime Scene Investigation ending its run after 15 years, star Ted Danson's D.B. Russell character is moving to the cyber division. In turn, he is starring on CSI: Cyber. Showrunner Pam Veasey talked to CBS News about Danson's joining the show, explaining that: He's coming over from CSI because he wasn't quite finished with the crime world. He is the director of Next Generation Forensics. So he combines the CSI world of fingerprints and DNA with the technology of next generation products. He's the one always bringing in the newest thing, like a baby pacifier, that is Bluetooth ... He then gives it to our team of hackers, our young people, and says, 'Hack this so we're one step ahead of the bad guy.' Some of the subjects we'll get to see as cases on the show this season include home security systems, plane travel and hospital visits. Veasey reveals: We're going to touch on that fabulous concept of remote cars, cars without drivers. So all the things that people are hearing about are going to be stories that we're telling. This season on CSI: Cyber, we get to see D.B. Russell interacting with the show's cast when they need to solve a case involving a predator who is hacking dolls owned by little girls. As for the premiere episode, it is titled "Why-Fi" and the official episode synopsis reads: Avery welcomes D.B. Russell to the team as they investigate a burglary/homicide committed by someone who hacked the home’s security system remotely, on the second season premiere of "CSI: Cyber", on the CBS Television Network. Also, Avery considers moving to a new position within the hierarchy of the FBI, Krumitz is a witness in his sister’s trial, Elijah deals with a delicate family situation and more is revealed about Nelson’s and Raven’s backgrounds. Ted Danson joins the cast as D.B. Russell, the new Director of Next Generation Forensics, who transfers to Washington, D.C. from Las Vegas. Some other spoilers this season is that nothing is off-limits with what can be hacked. The show deals with pacifiers, plants and even sex toys. They also go after the most powerful hacker in the world, known as "Python." There will also be a new love relationship within the team that develops this season. Ted Dansen was a total downer for the show. In spite of gadgets, he is a monotone and a terrible actor. Why did you ruin a good show?
