Benoist and Jenner met while they both starred on Glee. Their characters, Marley and Ryder, were romantically linked, but ultimately the connection didn’t work out on the show. Their real life connection, however, was another matter entirely. The two started dating while they were filming the show and got engaged in 2013, Hollywood Life reported. Benoist said that they clicked on the very first day on the set and the chemistry between their characters was more than just acting.
2. They Were Secretly Married This Year
Benoist, 26, and Jenner, 22, were secretly married this year in late March, Hollywood Life reported. The news of their marriage didn’t come out until a couple months after the wedding. They got married after filming for Supergirl finished, Us Weekly reported.
3. They Had a Small Wedding And Then Honeymooned in Europe
Benoist and Jenner had a small wedding, attended mostly by family, Us Weekly reported. “We’re just excited this is happening,” they told E Online after the engagement, adding that the wedding would be “small, intimate, and nice.” After the wedding, the adorable couple honeymooned together in Europe and shared pictures of their trip on Instagram, although fans didn’t know they were on their honeymoon at the time.
4. Benoist and Jenner Are Working on a Movie Funded Through Kickstarter
Benoist and Jenner raised $110,057 on Kickstarter for a movie that is near and dear to Jenner’s heart. Called “Billy Boy,” the movie is going to be about a young man’s pursuit of self discovery and redemption, the Kickstarter page explains. Billy comes from a broken home and struggles to right his life, making a lot of bad decisions along the way. A young waitress helps him find his way back to hope and redemption. The film was funded in December 2013. in December 2014, they posted that the film was in post-production and they were working hard on fulfilling all the perks from the campaign.
5. Benoist’s Supergirl Premieres Tonight
Benoist’s Supergirl premieres tonight on NBC at 8:30 pm Eastern/7:30 p.m. Central. There’s a lot of fanfare about the series and Jenner has been one of her biggest supporters.
