Alek Skarlatos and Lindsay Arnold are one of the best looking couples on Dancing With the Stars. American hero Skarlatos has surprised viewers with his ability to learn routines so well, but recently on the show, it looked like he lost his focus a bit. Could he be facing elimination? Read on for the facts.
1. Arnold Is a Married Woman
Lindsay Arnold married her longtime beau Samuel Lightner Cusick this past June. The two are high school sweethearts from Utah and Arnold’s bridesmaids included DWTS pros Witney Carson, Emma Slater, Jenna Johnson, and Brittany Cherry as well as So You Think You Can Dance star Brooklyn Fullmer.
2. Skarlatos Had a Big Crush On DWTS Pro Emma Slater
For the “switch-up” week of the show, Skarlatos had to trade partners and ended up with pro Emma Slater. Skarlatos couldn’t stop talking about how gorgeous she was and he kept fumbling over himself. Show host Erin Andrews then pushed for the two to go out on a date and Slater agreed.
Earlier in the season, Lindsay Arnold was pushing Skarlatos to ask out one of the troupe dancers because he needed a little more “swagger”.

Skarlatos recently went to game 3 of the World Series to be honored as a veteran. He was accompanied by his DWTS pro partner Lindsay Arnold and the two met up with DWTS co-host Erin Andrews. The Oregon Army National Guardsman Specialist was chosen to be the “Veteran of the Game.” The New York Mets presented him with an American flag that flew over the field.
4. Lindsay Arnold Has Nothing But Kind Words to Say About Skarlatos
Lindsay Arnold talked to Bustle about her relationship with Skarlatos and initially gushed about his transformation on the show saying:
Alek’s transformation has been so incredible. I remember during the Good Morning America announcement in New York that he was like a deer in headlights, no idea what was going on … Now, it’s almost two months later, and he’s totally transformed. Watching him take this opportunity and make it his own and grasp it has been awesome for me.

GOOD NIGHT!!! #Godisgreat VOTE!! #teambrownsugar
Skarlatos was getting compared to fellow DWTS contestant Carlos PenaVega when PenaVega ended up with Arnold for the show’s “switch-up” week. Lindsay Arnold talked about that in an interview with Bustle and said:
Ooh, this is tough! I mean, Carlos and Alek are completely different people! They learn extremely differently. Carlos definitely picks up the moves more quickly than Alek — I think it comes a bit more naturally to him. That being said, it may take Alek a bit longer to get the steps, but when he does, he really performs them well.
