Charlie Sheen is announcing on the Today show that he has HIV, TMZ reported. But was the shocking news already leaked when the Sony emails were hacked?
The information was mentioned in an email, but it’s not known if the author was speaking from first-hand knowledge or simply rumor. It had been rumored for awhile in Hollywood circles that Sheen might be HIV positive.
The email, which was sent on March 10, 2014, referred to Sheen as “a drug addict and HIV positive.” The email was part of Wikileaks’ email dump earlier in the year, and you can see the message here.
In the email, the author linked to a story about the trouble Sheen was having finishing filming Anger Management. The message was sent to John Weiser, president of U.S. distribution for Sony Pictures Television, Zack Van Amburg, president of U.S. programming and production for Sony, and Jamie Erlicht, president of U.S. programming and production for Sony, Radar Online reported.
The email reads:
I think I will win the 90/10 bet on the over under on this …it’s hard to to be a drug addict and be HIV positive and do 40 eps a year.
