One Direction has called for an indefinite hiatus and their tour has ended, but Directioners are very excited because the 1D boys are performing tonight at the 2015 American Music Awards. To celebrate, the guys recently stopped by The Ellen Show to surprise a fan with tickets to the AMAs.
The band is performing their song “Perfect” off their brand new album Made In The A.M., which dropped on November 13, 2015.
The other performers who are set to take the stage tonight include Celine Dion, Justin Bieber, JLo, 5SOS, Nick Jonas, Demi Lovato, Alanis Morissette, Carrie Underwood, Walk The Moon, Meghan Trainor, Charlie Puth, Pentatonix, Cold Play, Gwen Stefani, Macklemore, Ryan Lewis, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, Leon Bridges, Luke Bryan and Karen Fairchild.

Zayn Malik told Fader Magazine that he is not trying to be One Direction with his new music. As for his 1D days, he said that: There was never any room for me to experiment creatively in the band. If I would sing a hook or a verse slightly R&B, or slightly myself, it would always be recorded 50 times until there was a straight version that was pop, generic as fuck, so they could use that version. Whenever I would suggest something, it was like it didn't fit us.
