When Does ‘Reign’ Return?

Reign spoilers, Reign return, Reign schedule

Reign won’t be back for a few weeks, but there are plenty of spoilers to help fill the wait. (Facebook)

It’s been heck of a ride for Reign fans this fall.

We all knew that Francis (Toby Regbo) wouldn’t survive the year, but we were all a bit blindsided by the young king’s death so early in the season. Now, much like Mary (Adelaide Kane) we’re all still mourning just a bit and not quite sure how to go on without the leader of France.

Still, the Queen of France (and Scotland for that matter) will have to find a way to continue to rule and fans of the CW hit must find a way to get through the midseason break as well. That’s right, we’ve got some time before we head back to court. Reign won’t return to TV screens early in January before its winter finale on January 22.

Before we delve into the spoilers for the second half of Reign‘s third season, take a look at a preview clip for the upcoming episode, tilted “Our Undoing”:

Alright, now that we’ve all taken a second to get our breath back after that clip, let’s take a look at what we know about what’s next.

After it was made clear by the British Ambassador (Ben Guerens) that he would reveal Prince Don Carlos’ (Mark Ghanimé) rather unusual sexual proclivities, the prince’s relationship with Mary stumbled. The queen attempted to go along with his interests, even bringing Catherine (Megan Follows) in for support.

However, when Don Carlos discovered Catherine’s presence, he was so embarrassed he stormed out of the room, tripped and stumbled to his death. No really. That’s a real thing that happened.

Now that the Prince of Spain is dead, an alliance between Scotland and Spain is certainly off the table and Mary is going to have to deal with the repercussions of it all. Of course, that may be easier said than done when Catherine possibly tries to pin the blame on her daughter-in-law.

There’s plenty of drama to prepare for, but Reign viewers should know that the biggest drama may actually be shaping up away from the cameras. The CW has already announced that The Vampire Diaries and The Originals would be moving to Friday nights at 8 p.m. and 9 p.m., respectively, in late January and that doesn’t bode very well for the future schedule of Reign.

There’s already been plenty of speculation regarding Reign‘s future and they weren’t helped by this year’s move to Friday night. This latest news doesn’t bode well either. Keep your fingers crossed fans.
