Kirstie Alley is a veteran in the entertainment industry and she has an infectious energy that you cannot help but love. She was born in Wichita, Kansas and even as famous as she is, she still loves to retreat to her home state and relax with her family. Over the years, we fell in love with her on Cheers, Veronica’s Closet, Dancing With the Stars, and many popular movies. She has accomplished so much in the industry and continues to impress. We had the opportunity to chat with Alley about her upcoming projects, recent Cheers reunion and her weight-loss journey. Read on for the facts.
1. Alley Continues to Be a Spokesperson for Jenny Craig
Currently, Alley works as a spokeswoman for Jenny Craig and the company has helped her greatly is losing weight and keeping healthy. Alley explains why Jenny Craig works for her:
I’m a spokesperson for Jenny Craig for a reason and that’s because I think it’s very easy. One of the things that makes it the easiest is, I don’t think I always have the ability to do things on my own.
Alley explains that everyone who signs up for Jenny Craig gets assigned a personal consultant and that makes your journey very simple.
2. She Recently Participated In a Cheers Reunion
Kirstie Alley joined the cast of Cheers in 1987, replacing Shelly Long, and viewers never knew what hit them. Alley was a great addition to the cast and she cherishes her time on the show even today. Recently, she was able to re-connect with George Wendt and John Ratzenberger, aka Norm and Cliff, for a commercial she did for Jenny Craig. Alley describes the experience as this:
It was probably one of my very favorite days of 2015 because I love John and George and they were just terrific. It was just a pure joy to film that day with them.
Out of Alley’s six years on the show, she says that what she most loved was going to work with a group of people she adored and had a fun time with on set.
3. Her Family Is Her Biggest Priority
Alley tells us that the more time she spends with her kids, family and animals, the better she feels in life. Over the holidays, she spent a lot of time in Kansas, where she’s originally from and hung out with her father, who is 92 years old.
4. Alley Has a Few Projects In the Works
Currently underway, a few projects that Alley is working on and one of them was her recently working on Will Arnett’s new Netflix show Flaked. It is set to premiere Friday, March 11, 2016. She also has three projects in development, but viewers will just have to wait and see what those will be …
5. Working and Creativity Is What Gives Alley Energy
When talking to Alley about her beautiful energy, she said that she just genuinely has an appreciation for life. Creativity and working on new projects keeps her going and happy. Even so, this year, Alley hopes to be more active and travel to Italy. She wants to ride her bicycle, do yoga, and take up salsa dancing this year as well. She prides herself on doing activities that she really loves. In addition, Alley has two movies she’s working on and she also has been developing a television show that she refers to as her “passion project.”
